Projects in the International Institute of Informatics and Cybernetics (IIIC)
The projects that are currently in progress or being planned in the context of the International Institute of Informatics and Cybernetics (IIIC) are the following:
  1. The development of an information system oriented to support scholarly communication in Systemics, Cybernetics and Informatics, including immediate knowledge dissemination and support for creative interaction, constructive feedback, and participative reviewing. A first step into achieving this purpose will be attained by combining and integrating essential features of self-archiving e-prints, collaboratories, and Participative Peer-to-Peer Reviewing.

  2. The execution of the second phase for the Journal of Systemics, Cybernetics, and Informatics (JSCI). The access to the electronic version has been a Full Open Access. Almost all papers published, up to the present, in JSCI are among the best 25%-30% of the papers presented at the conferences organized by the International Institute of Informatics and Systemics (IIIS) (which means about the best 5%-10% of the articles submitted to these conferences), with no additional cost for their authors. The financial support of JSCI has been provided by the International Institute of Informatics and Systemics: IIIS. The challenge for JSCI in its second phase, which is oriented to the publication of papers not previously presented at conferences organized by the IIIS and selected as the best papers, is to find the means of electronically publishing these newly submitted papers, producing the printed product, and maintaining the complimentary subscriptions (of at least one year) for the libraries of the organizations at which JSCI's authors are affiliated.

  3. The creation of new journals as spin-offs from JSCI for more specific areas or disciplines. Two different software platforms will support these new journals: a) our proprietary software supporting the publication of JSCI, and b) The Open Journal Systems, which and Open Source software. In both cases, the new journals will be Open Access.

  4. Best papers will be selected from the proceedings that IIIC has published and they will be published as books to be distributed via Amazon.

  5. A series of books oriented to Interdisciplinary Communication will be published.

  6. The publication of tutorial and inter-disciplinary videos via web.
